Cycling, wine tasting & the Aussie bush

Well, I can’t come all the way to Australia and not include a bike ride! Something a little bit different today - mountain biking up in the McLaren Vale wine region & Adelaide Hills through the Aussie Bush.

Our first stop included riding through the Onkaparinga National Park on a slightly technical Trail until we reached an amazing viewpoint overlooking the gorge, not before encountering kangaroos blocking our path.

Our next stop involved a very fun and fast descent down Wyndham Hill onward to our first winery of the day Gemtree winery for lunch and five tastings.

After our lunch we headed along an idyllic bush trail passing loads of vineyards. It was so peaceful & pretty cycling along this trail, I could’ve cycled on it for another couple of hours.

Although I nearly did! as I stopped to take a photo and missed the turn so a few extra miles for me today !

Onward to our second winery of the day, kangarillo winery with some more wine tastings .

Back on the bike for our third stop of the day at a micro brewery, Goodison’s brewery. It was just so beautiful sitting out on the deck, enjoying our brewery tastings overlooking the vineyards.

Lots of fun - kangaroos blocking our path on one trail, 2 wineries, one micro brewery and quite a few tastings / later… . 🥴 Lots and lots of fun on this enjoyable day. 🚴‍♀️😍 Just wish we were out cycling for longer! 😂😂
