Still no cycling as yet! After a leisurely breakfast made our way over to the island of Murano which is famous for its glassblowing & glass art. A beautiful island I've never visited before which has a lot of the Venice charm without all the tourist trappings.
Then back to the Hotel to assemble our bikes somehow I managed it! But with help! Many thanks 🙏 the evening then took a strange turn. Due to a ferry strike tomorrow it meant our support vehicle needed to leave tonight at 10p.m. as there is only one way / one ferry/ no bridge off the island. So we had to hand over our luggage at 10pm. This meant going to dinner & having to change into our cycling gear half way through and service was so slow! Plus will mean cycling the first 35 km tomorrow with a day pack with our night attire & toothbrush 😂
We had dinner in a beautiful restaurant with a spectacular sunset view over the lagoon and towards Saint Mark's! Sadly the service was pretty bad - arrived at 8 pm and the dessert served at 11!! But a fun night of laughs & meeting the rest of the group.
Cycle starts tomorrow! 🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
What a location!
Italian casual chic!
What goes where? 😳
