After the cold spells of recent times this past week has been unusually warm. Taking advantage of the unseasonal weather three amazing rides this week – an off road adventure up to the Rushmere Country Park including some very steep sections up Ivy lane and up to Rushmere (we normally go the other way!), but due to the lack of rain the trails were remarkably dry. On the way back along the grand union canal we even spotted a topless runner wearing only shorts - I mean blimey it wasn't that warm!
On Saturday took out a breeze ride over to thrift farm, a lovely 16 mile route and somehow managed to avoid the rain which fell in Milton Keynes. It was my first time visiting the thrift farm shop cafe and it really was a pleasant little find.
On Sunday had a club ride out to the Preston Bissett Tipi ( you can read my review here), what a beautiful day for a ride. ☀️☀️ It was positively Springlike. 🌹🌷🪴🌸🌻I cannot think of anything else I would rather be doing on such a wonderful day, than a 38 mile ride with some fab people cycling through bucolic countryside, complete with some cute lambs along the way, happy days! what was also great about this ride, is that we had a 50/50 gender balance! my aim for all club rides....
Finished week off by a final 4 mile (return) cycle to the pub for drinks with friends! 116 miles in the saddle this week.
