Today I was very honoured to receive the Award 'Top cycling individual' in the Milton Keynes Mayor's Cycling and sustainable travel Awards. When I first joined World Vision back in August I was signed up to their 50 day workplace challenge, which was local employers taking part in a competition to encourage active and sustainable travel / walking and cycling. It was a great way to feel part of my new team & organisation - and of course do I really need another excuse to go cycling?. Anyway it seems that with my cycling to work and my normal cycling activity, this meant that I ended up topping the leaderboard. 🤩 It was lovely to go along to the awards at a breakfast ceremony at the Network Rail Quadrant building and hear about all the future plans for cycling in Milton Keynes. I received my certificate and also a lovely gift of a new bike helmet. I didn't take part in the challenge to win anything, but it was a lovely and unexpected surprise. 🚴♀️🏆
