North Downs way (ish) - Day 2

Boxhill (mole valley) to Wrotham / 43 miles

We started our day with an ascent of the iconic Boxhill climb. What a way to start your morning just after you've had your breakfast eggs!! Love that climb. ❤️

We then ventured off road into Headley Heath. The paths and trails were pretty bad yesterday in terms of the mud but the persistent rain overnight made them impassable. And to be honest became quite a difficult and not very enjoyable. 🥲

So we made the choice to relocate our ride to the road. I mean it was still a beautiful route, quiet country roads for the most part.

Still had our fair share of climbing with just under 3000 feet today. Country roads from Walton on the hill to Oxted where we had a fantastic lunch and then onward through Titsey & and then the most amazing several miles of rolling road along a ridge with miles of vineyards to the right of us. By the time we got to Otford, it was school run time so a bit busy on the roads but once we are out of that village, back onto quiet country lanes & a beautiful run down to our hotel at Wrotham.

Not quite as muddy as we were last night! Lucky with the weather no rain and the Sun even came out.

Wasn't the route we originally planned but it's still a lovely one! Very pretty. 43 miles today.
