Cotswolds gravelling….

My birthday weekend away of course would consist of cyclIng! Headed over to Komoot to do some exploring of off-road routes in the area around Cirencester. Komoot can be hit and miss with discovering new routes, but great success with this weekend with two amazing off-road routes. 🚴‍♀️🤩 On the Saturday, Phil and I cycled around the extensive Cotswolds waterpark. Over 180 lakes within a 40 mi.² radius. Really fun for cycling along some great trails & through some beautiful villages. On the Sunday, we took a route leaving from the water park up towards Cirencester, up towards Wodmancote and back. What a beautiful route this was - not all brilliant though, crossing the A429 was a low point 🤣 but apart from that, all fabulous. Cycled a section of the NCN45, and then through Raggedhedge covert onto the sisters Woods, taking in part of the Welsh way (uphill) and then along this amazing beautiful ridge along Bagendon, then down through Daglingworth Woods (steep & rocky! 😱) before heading back into the old Roman town of Cirencester. Plenty of mud to be had! but we were so fortunate with the weather, the sun came out, no incidents except colliding with a rock hidden by loads of leaves which caused me to have a little bit of a tumble into the brambles ⚠️⚠️ but no lasting damage, just a few brambles in my bottom! Would totally recommend this route if you want a great off-road route with a lot of diversity & beautiful scenery around Cirencester area. Lots of photos as it was so lovely! The route is on my komoot profile.
