Yorkshire day 4 - Endless quiet lanes and idyllic valleys
Updated: Jul 22, 2022
So the temperature today was at least 20° less than Tuesday‘s temperature but actually perfect riding conditions for a 51 mile ride on another section of the Yorkshire Wolds NCN network. It really was a stunning route - miles and miles of quiet country lanes alongside fields of barley, wheat & other crops, it did mean however dodging the occasional humongous combine harvester and other large agricultural vehicles!! 😲 a stop at a beautiful church in South Dalton before we ended up at lunch at the Gnu Inn in North Newbald before embarking on a climb up a gravel path! on road bikes - although I fortunately was on my gravel bike, and then through some beautiful valleys - so idyllic. I could’ve ridden this route over and over, it was so beautiful and diverse. My top speed today was 34.3 mph! 🚀 One of my best day rides out this year! 🧡🧡 absolutely love the Yorkshire Wolds. What a fantabulous day… 🚴😎😍
